In memory of ...

Kurt Plaumann

Kurt and I became friends after I started working at Kohl's on 92nd and Lisbon, along with fellow classmates Brian McCann, Rich Bodart, and Bob Schmitt as well as many other Marshall alums. Our friendship led to innumerable nights (and days) of carousing, multiple road trips and playing softball together on several different teams. Kurt was a groomsman at both my and my brother's wedding, eight years apart. We lost touch in the late eighties and the only reunion he attended was the 10th, during which we slow-danced together until Dave Tausend cut in. The disease he succumbed to doesn't seem fitting for a guy who could walk on his hands but, as we all know, life ain't always fair. Rest in peace, Kurt. You live on in my memories.
