In memory of ...

Meridee (Sagadin) Maynard

Meridee Maynard (nee Sagadin), 66, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 28, 2021. Meridee was a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, wife, and friend who brought great joy to those in her life. Meridee grew up in Milwaukee and was a graduate of John Marshall High School, class of 1973. She attended UW-Milwaukee where she earned her Bachelor's degree in business administration and accounting. She later earned her CPA (among numerous other certifications) and for over a decade she worked as a public accountant at firms in the Milwaukee area. She then joined Northwestern Mutual, where she worked in various divisions and built a highly successful career, advancing to senior leadership roles.

She was a champion of financial literacy and helped teach people to think about their money in terms of spending, saving, investing, and donating.

Meridee shared almost 24 years of marriage to John Maynard before his passing in 2019. The couple enjoyed jazz, theater, sailing, and travel. Meridee was a delightful host of holiday gatherings and wedding and baby showers – with every detail attended to. She was very musical and could often be heard singing her greeting or breaking into a little song (maybe even with jazz hands!) when the moment was right. She was filled with energy, always moving, walking fast, and talking fast. She dearly loved her family and was very generous and thoughtful.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Beverly Sagadin, her sister, Monica Wieczorek, and her husband, John Maynard. She is survived by her brother-in-law, Dick Wieczorek, nephews, Greg (Desiree) Wieczorek and Doug (Rebecca) Wieczorek, and her grand-nieces and nephew, Maddie, Catie, and Mason. Her step-children Bryce and Pam Maynard held a special place in her heart.

Meridee had a beautiful life and made a lasting impact on those who knew her. She will be dearly missed.

The family would like to thank Autumn Leaves, Assisting Hands, and Season's Hospice for their care and support.

Visitation will be held Saturday, November 6 at the funeral home from 11 AM until time of Service at 1 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be sent to Alzheimer's Association.
